Hello all. Christmas Eve has come and gone and Christmas Day is nearly gone as well but there are 12 days of Christmas so the celebration of the birth of Christ only begins on Christmas eve and lasts until Epiphany when we celebrate the arrival of the Kings or Wise Men. And so, Happy Christmas to you all.
And so it was, that while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them "Fear not, for I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:6-14

Hi Stampers, well it's less than one week until the big day. Company has arrived and more is on the way. I had planned to make wonderful, beautiful, complicated of course gift tags for all the packages but alas as usual time ran out. What to do? My ever faithful and helpful husband suggested he go to Wal-Mart for me of course and I nearly let him. Then in an inspired (sort of) moment I thought why don't I just cut some card stock - that will only take a few minutes - and punch some snowflakes. We had by accident or default not by design wound up with a two-color scheme on the wrapping paper so I decided it would be simple to use the same red and white theme for the gift tags. I was so happy with the simple solution I'm thinking we should pick two colors every year and do the same thing more or less. So don't panic when it comes to those tags. Just get out your punches and have some fun making simple tags. Think about it. The only thing the kids really care about is seeing which packages are for them. Take care and take some time to do something for yourself or someone else this week. Everyone is worth it.

Hi there. If you're anything like me the Christmas tasks never seem to be finished. Here's a You Tube video featuring Shelli Gardner, CEO of Stampin' Up! with some ideas that can be done oh so fast if you have a Big Shot and the Baskets and Blooms die. If you don't have any of these wonderful toys - I mean tools and you'd like to give me a call at 405-837-4941 or email me by clicking here. If you'd rather check out out my web site you can shop at home from here. Take care of yourselves these busy days and come back soon.

Hi stampers. Okay, you're right it's not really two weeks until Christmas but more like 1 1/2 but who's counting? Oh yeah, me. Well it's really getting close now so today I finished most of my Christmas shopping. I think I have one more thing to find and then I'll be done. Then there will be nothing left to do but clean house, shop for groceries, cook, etc. Sometimes I wonder if we're really celebrating the birth of the Savior or just feeding our own loves. I keep reminding myself "Jesus is the Reason for the Season." But who doesn't love to watch everyone opening gifts and seeing their expression when they get something they are excited about. Of course the grandkids are especially fun for this. Then there's the food. A great dinner is followed by some of our favorite desserts. The ones I enjoy most are those my mother made. I don't think it's that they are better but the memories make them all the sweeter. This will probably be the last Christmas card I post this year so I hope you will have time for some stamping between all the busyness and don't forget to take time to enrich your spiritual life this season as well.
This card was totally cased from one I saw online but I didn't print it and can't find the site now. It was so lovely I couldn't find anything to change about it. It is much prettier in "real life". What makes it special is covering the center image completely with VersaMark and embossing with Iridescent Ice. It sparkles and glows.
Stamps: Serene Snowflakes (page 26 Holiday mini)
Snow Swirled (page 36 IBC)
Cardstock: Kraft, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Iridescent Ice embossing powder, Very Vanilla 5/8" grosgrain ribbon

Goodness, gracious, glory be - Christmas is three weeks from tomorrow. Seems like every year it gets here faster and faster. The last few weeks have been busy at our house which has made the time go even faster. We don't usually have that much company but we've had out of town guests three times in 4-5 weeks. We love it but I do get distracted. This week I get to enjoy my grand babes for a few days so I'm posting a card my SIL made at my house a couple of weeks ago. It was so beautiful we totally cased the whole thing. Sorry, I don't remember where we saw it but if it was yours we thank you very much. It was gorgeous.
Stamp sets - Snow Swirled, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Bermuda Bay
Ink - Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Bermuda Bay
Designer Paper - Merry Moments
Accessories - Bermuda Bay dotted ribbon, Fine Cosmo glitter

Boy the clock seems to be running at double speed these days. I have a cute little gift idea for you today. My niece made this last weekend when she was here with her mom. She really has a knack for paper crafting. So without further delay - check it out. It features the hostess set Snow Buddies from the Holiday mini.

Wow, I've been recouping from a very fun weekend. My sister-in-law and downline came this weekend with her daughter and we played "stamp 'til you cramp". We tried to get everything we could think of in as we worked almost without stopping all day Saturday and into the night. I was sorry to see them leave on Sunday morning but found myself contemplating a nap during church. One successful experiment used the "shaving cream technique". We filled a cake pan with shaving cream and added color with several different re-inkers. After giving leaves cut with the Big Shot some extra personality this is what we came up with. Have a great week everyone!

Hi Stampers, well you guessed it. I finally missed last week all together. It was bad enough that I was late the week before but - a whole week just gone?! Well, I sort of have a good excuse. I've been re-organizing my stamping studio. Or maybe just organizing it since it hadn't ever really been "finished". I'm very excited because now it's finally in good enough shape (more or less) that someone else can come and stamp with me. So that's what's happening this weekend. I hope to have something fun to show when the weekend is over. But on to this week's project. I have another card for you. This was fun to make. The technique is called "Joseph's Coat". Using glossy cardstock you stamp and clear emboss your design. Then you sponge or brayer on color. The color under the embossing will remain white. If you want the design to be colored then apply that before you emboss. Then you sponge or brayer on a darker color than before. In the case of white you can use most colors. The stamps used are Serene Snowflakes from the Holiday mini and Teeny Tiny Wishes from the big catalog. Inks are Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue, and Night of Navy. The cardstock is Whisper White and Glossy white and a tiny bit of Bashful Blue. Have a fabulous weekend and do something you love.
